how to make chiken biryani
Here is a recipe for chicken biryani ππ
Ingredients:π¨πΌπ³
- 1 kg chicken π
- 2 cups basmati rice π
- 2 onions, sliced π§
- 2 tomatoes, choppedπ
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 2 green chilies, slit πΆ️
- 1/2 cup yogurt π
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 1/2 cup mint leaves, chopped
- 1/2 cup coriander leaves, chopped
- 4 tablespoons oil
- 2 tablespoons ghee
- Salt to taste
- 2 cups water
Directions:
1. Wash and soak the rice in water for 30 minutes.
2. Heat oil and ghee in a pan, and fry the onions until golden brown.
3. Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, and cook for a minute.
4. Add tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and garam masala powder, and cook until the tomatoes are soft and the oil separates.
5. Add the chicken pieces, salt, and yogurt, and cook for 10 minutes.
6. Add the mint and coriander leaves, and cook for another 5 minutes.
7. In a separate pot, boil the water and add the soaked rice. Cook until the rice is 3/4th done.
8. Drain the rice, and layer it over the chicken mixture.
9. Cover the pot and cook on low heat for 10-15 minutes, or until the rice is fully cooked.
10. Serve hot with raita and pickle.
